Our U.S. Branch opened in 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. The mission of U.S. Operations is to support ZCTF Headquarters in Zimbabwe, by bringing public awareness to the plight of the wildlife there and the actions of ZCTF to conserve all African wildlife in the Republic of Zimbabwe. While also investing resources into education programs , public awareness, and recruiting ZCTF staff members on a global scale.

In addition, ZCTF as a whole, in 2008, became aware and involved in captive wildlife issues around the world, following the concept that we are creating a better world for African wildlife. We believe that conservation must take place in the animals' native countries, and that in non-progressive captive situations, not meeting the needs of the species held in captivity, solutions and alternatives must be found to properly care for and meet the needs of the species in question.

ZCTF is committed to seeing the best conservation methods in use, regardless of where the animal is located. Full investigative measures are used to determine if there is a failure to meet the needs, and if this is the case, ZCTF will try its best to mediate the issue. Failure to correct these issues will result in stronger measures being taken within the extent of the law, provided by the country the animal resides in.
